For five glorious summer days, the Taste of London festival returns to Regent's Park, offering a wonderful range of food from all over the world. The yearly event allows Chefs from over forty London establishments to show off all the best that they have to offer. With over 200 food and drink stalls packed with an array of wonderful offerings, the event also allows visitors to watch demonstrations on cooking methods and to experience the flavours.
Taste of London is now well established in the calendar, and this year is on between 19th and 23rd June, at the Regent’s Park site, with many new restaurants meeting some old favourites too. The annual festival has established itself as one of the best and most anticipated foodie events of the summer months. Visitors can expect to try exciting street food, discover new products, shop till your heart’s content and learn many new skills from the experts. There are also interactive cocktail and cookery masterclasses, and the Taste Theatre exhibit where you can get hands-on with some of your culinary heroes.
The themes of this year’ event is ‘Wild in the City’, which will explore global concepts of sustainability and championing craftsmanship in food, with an appearance from South African restaurant Wolfgat, alongside some other incredible returning establishments such as Delamina, Claw, Club Gascon, and Hutong. In addition, there are several new restaurants showing off their wares, including Brigadiers, Indian Accent, Flesh and Buns, and Chotto Matte, making the experience an absolute must for anyone who appreciates their food experiences.
As usual, each of these restaurants will be serving up a selection of their special dishes for the show as well as competing against each other for the Best in Taste prize. Visitors to the show will be able to taste examples of the wonderful food being prepared by the chefs, and watch as they construct their exquisite dishes. The show will also see a free competition to allow one person to really take part. This year, Taste of London is on the hunt for a final taster to join some of the city’s biggest names and spend a full day of the festival sampling each of the hundreds of dishes on offer before the festival opens properly to the public. In order to enter this once in a lifetime experience, you should head to the Taste festival site and tell the organisers why you should be the tester in 50 words.
